RENO CHINATI FEATURE IN RUBYHORNET

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Reno Chinati's been criss-crossing the country as part of the Sneaker Pimps Tour, and just dropped a new single produced by the legendary Hip Hop producer, No ID. RubyHornet takes a First Look at Reno Chinati, as we get his thoughts on working with No ID, growing up in Chicago, the meaning behind his name and more.

On Working With No ID:
Working with NO. I.D is always a learning experience even if there are no words spoken. When he sent the song to my ex-manager at the time, he wanted to hear more than just words put together. Like most people, and of course a man of his status, he wants to be taken to another world through music or experience a story. He heard the song and liked it, and always told me to continue sharpening swords. I think the best advice he could have ever told me was to continue to grind and, don't wait for someone to give you something. He always respected me for the simple fact that I stayed motivated, and always tried to build my name up without him doing it for me. He would say that's the old fashioned way, because now people want you to open the door for them when it use to be, 'let's find a way to kick the door in.'

"One Wish" produced by No ID:

Growing Up On The Southside of Chicago:
I grew up on the Southside of chicago. i spent one half of my life in the wild 100's, and the other half on the low end of Chicago, 51st to be exact. Being that I'm a child of the 90's, the 90's were considered one of the deadliest times in Chicago, and I was in the heart of the war. I've been on my own since high school, 16 to be exact. It was not because I had to, I always had a family that showed me love, I was just a hard head. For some reason, I always wanted to learn things the hard way. So, I found myself hustling and moving around from apartment to apartment. I was one of the most popular kids cause I was 16 with my own crib how phli is that!

The Origins of Reno Chinati:
The name Reno actually comes from where my aunt and grandma stay in Reno, Nevada by Las Vegas. I used to go out there to visit and when I had some of the greatest times with my fam and all. One time I was out there shooting dice with some youngins from out there that was getting money for real and, I came up on $3,200. I felt lucky being that it's close to Vegas and all, so Reno, Nevada gave me my first name. CHI is dedicated to the city I love, Chicago. NATI, or notty, is what they used to call me in my neighborhood cause i was a bushy baby, a nappy head. I was into Hip Hop heavy back then.

Future Plans
Well, as of right now I'm not really rushing to put out an official album due to the state of the music business. I have crazy mixtapes out right now! I have a mixtape with Shadyville DJ Sean Mac that you can download on my myspace page. Right now I feel like the people don't really really know me yet. I want to continue to put out good music via mixtapes, blogs like rubyhornet and fakeshoredrive, radio outlets etc. So when a album does come from RENO CHINATI it's appreciated.

Three Things To Know About Reno Chinati:
I speak from the heart, I will always continue to be humble in the eyes of people that support and love RENO CHINATI, and I will definently continue to be consistent with good music! ya dig!

And i can't end this feature without saying much love to Ruby Hornet for reaching out and letting me be heard! peace and love.
